Production is not allowed to assist players with supplies. All bamboo sticks and shoots collected in the process of building the shelter are collected by the players themselves, without the help of the Survivor crew. Players do not receive any additional supplies from production. Competitors can bring a handbag (called a “luxury item”) to the camp and any clothing they want when they join.
The crew checks their bags before arriving at the camp and takes off all clothing with logos. In addition, the colors must look good on camera and the contestants cannot wear all the same colors. However, contestants may bring items such as medication, contraceptives, sunscreen and insect repellent. She added that doctors also weigh competitors to see how much weight they lost while on the island, which is shown in additional Ponderosa videos on the YouTube channel Survivor.
Each contestant is allowed to arrive at the camp with a portable object and nothing else. This is what is known in the series as a luxury item. Do Survivor cast members receive personal hygiene items? Yes and no. They have access to a container with necessary supplies such as feminine products, contraceptives, vital medications, contact lens solution, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
Contestants are not given razors, toothbrushes or other amenities, so if they have bright white teeth or are not growing body hair, it may be due to teeth whitening or laser hair removal that they had done before leaving for the show.
